Aspiring Avalanche Dogs Inc is a non-profit organization a registered charity. A New Zealand first, they are based near Wanaka at Treble Cone ski area. Aspiring Avalanche Dogs has the full support of the NZ Police, the Department of Conservation, the Mountain Safety Council and NZLandSAR with whom we are all volunteers for and whose training guidelines and standards we follow as an organisation.

Tayla started climbing at 8 years old and entered her first competition at age 9. Since that first competition she has not looked back, entering and winning her first national competition on her 10th birthday. Tayla has been regularly competing in, and winning, both regional and national events ever since, and in 2009 won both the National Cup series and National Championships for her age group, and was 2nd in the Oceania Championships.
