A lightweight and comfortable jacket that survived the rigours of a night out in the Waitakere Ranges and a wilderness first aid course, and still came out the other side looking good.
The excellent breathability of the Gore-Tex membrane and the pit zips under the arms meant excess perspiration is never an issue.
The Minimalist is an ideal shell layer worn over several light layers and the integrated AngelWing technology means you’ll never have to deal with the sleeves riding up at inopportune moments.
Waterproofing was ensured with flaps over the zippers – not a drop of water found its way into the jacket. Velcro strips running down the inside of the main zip (rather than on the zip flap) provide ease of opening.
There are two pockets, one of each side of the jacket. Large enough to fit a map, compass and muesli bar apiece.
Hood position can be adjusted with a Velcro tab on the back of the head and easy-cinch draw cords on the front.
The minimalist certainly lives up to its name, presenting a lightweight package ideal for day hiking, urban dwelling or tramps.
