Export 33 Xtreme Comp 2011

Last week saw the Export 33 Xtreme Competition return to Whakapapa, and with fine weather for most of the comp there was some great big mountain skiing, including a 50m+ drop by Sam Smoothy!

Sam Smoothy went on to take out the top prize of $10,000 US cash and qualified for the World Freeride Tour. American Chantelle Heroux won the female skiing title.

In the snowboarding competition New Zealander Colin Boyd won the male title, with Wanaka's Abby Lockart taking out the female snowboard title. 

Export 33 Xtreme 2011

5th – 11thSeptember – Whakapapa, Mt Ruapehu

This four star Freeride World Tour Qualifier put Mt Ruapehu on the map in the Big Mountain Freeride World.

Competitors ride the gnarliest terrain Whakapapa Ski Area can offer and are judged over several days to claim stake to bragging rights and massive winnings, including USD$10,000 Men’s Ski First Place.

The Skiing will be held on the first 3 fine days from the 5th of Sept, with the last available day being on Sunday the 11th of Sept.

The Export 33 Xtreme is back and bigger than ever with a $10,000 US cash first prize for Men's Ski first place up for grabs!

Some of New Zealand’s and the World’s best names in big mountain skiing and snowboarding are expected to descend on Mt Ruapehu next month for the Export 33 Xtreme skiing event, and the Mother Snowboard Challenge at Whakapapa.

This is your chance to win part of a $6000 prize package courtesy of Marmot, Scarpa, Imagelab and Alpine Recreation.
